Wood, plastic, solid surface material, processed wood materials or metals can be instantly and firmly secured without marks or dents using the Her-Saf Air-Vac-Clamps. These vacuum clamps use compressed air to safely hold materials for routing, trimming, sanding, painting, gluing and other fabrication applications. Materials are placed on a plate that allows access to the top and all edges of the work piece. The Air-Vac-Clamp will stabilize any size panel or work piece so that it is almost impossible to move in a lateral direction. This allows a worker to use both hands for the job. (See "Clamping with Air" on our FYI page.)
The Air-Vac-Clamps, which easily connect to any clean compressed air line, use a minimum of 85 pounds of air pressure. The system's advanced venturi non-electric pump prevents clogging or damage by dirt or dust. The venture pump has no moving parts and requires minimal maintenance. These units use about 6 CFM's (cubic feet per minute) of free air flow. A foot controlled On/Off switch activates and releases the vacuum. The top plate dimensions are 11+7/8" x 15+7/8"; each is 36" from the floor with the perimeter having a gasket of closed-cell neoprene. The feet on each unit have been drilled so that the unit can be bolted to the floor if required. The Air-Vac-Clamp units are self-contained and arrive completely assembled, ready to use. All Air-Vac-Clamp units can be shipped United Parcel Service or Common Carrier.
Models #AV-10-AV2S & #AV-10-AV1 both have 1/2" aluminum plate tops with welded steel frames. An adaptor plate is furnished with these models for securing pieces as small as 6" x 12". The adaptor plate fits over the main holding plate. Additional gasket material can be purchased to make custom applications for individual production purposes.
Model #AV-10-AV2S has a revolving top plate with eight locking positions. A second foot control operates the locking device for the top plate. This unit has an approximate shipping weight of 63 pounds.
